Student Complaint Policy

The International Institute of Vedic Wellness (IIVW) is committed to maintaining a safe, fair, and supportive environment for all students. We recognize that, from time to time, students may have concerns or complaints that require resolution. This policy outlines the process for addressing student complaints in a prompt and equitable manner.

Filing a Complaint
Students are encouraged to resolve issues informally with the concerned faculty or staff member. If informal resolution is not possible, students may file a formal complaint. Complaints should be submitted in writing and include the following information:

  • Name and contact information of the complainant
  • Description of the issue, including relevant dates and involved parties
  • Any supporting documentation
  • Desired resolution or outcome

Submission of Complaints
Formal complaints should be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs through one of the following methods:

  • Email: admin@iivw.org
  • Mail: Office of Student Affairs, International Institute of Vedic Wellness, 1 Bode Road, Streamwood, IL 60107
  • In-person: Office of Student Affairs

Complaint Review Process

  • Acknowledgment: The Office of Student Affairs will acknowledge receipt of the complaint within 5 business days.
  • Investigation: An impartial investigator will be assigned to review the complaint. This may include interviews with the complainant, the respondent, and any witnesses, as well as the review of relevant documents.
  • Resolution: A written determination, including findings and any actions to be taken, will be provided to the complainant within 30 business days of the acknowledgment. If additional time is required, the complainant will be notified.

Appeals
If the complainant is dissatisfied with the resolution, they may appeal the decision. Appeals must be submitted in writing within 10 business days of receiving the determination. Appeals should be directed to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and must include:

  • The original complaint
  • The determination provided
  • Reasons for the appeal

Promotion and Awareness
All promotional materials, including brochures and the university website, will prominently display the contact information and website for the Illinois Board of Higher Education for reporting complaints.
